New Zealand and Pakistan will lock horns in the first semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The teams travel to Sydney as the high-octane contest, scheduled to be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on November 9.

The Blackcaps have been in top form, registering comprehensive wins against Australia, Sri Lanka, and Ireland. The Kane Williamson-led side made it to the last four of the event, topping Group 1 of the Super 12 stage with seven points and a superior net run rate of +2.113.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s road to the semi-finals was been nothing short of a miracle. The Men in Green were nearly out of the tournament as South Africa were deemed favourites to qualify along with India. However, in an interesting turn of events, the historic win by the Netherlands against the Proteas made the Bangladesh-Pakistan fixture a virtual knockout. Eventually, Babar Azam got the advantage and sealed their berth in the last four.

Speaking about their head-to-head record in the marquee event, Pakistan have got the better of the Kiwis on four occasions in six meetings while New Zealand have only managed to win twice against the Men in Green. Meanwhile, Pakistan recently won the tri-series against the Black Caps and Bangladesh held prior to the showpiece event down under that further strengthens their case of being termed as favourites. However, the level of form maintained by New Zealand could outplay Pakistan in the last four contest.

The weather is expected to remain partly cloudy

As per weather predictions by ‘AccuWeather’, the high-octane clash between the two giants is expected to happen in full flow without any rain interruptions. The contest is to be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground  at 7.00 pm local time (1.30 pm IST).

The weather in the morning is expected to be mostly sunny and warm and breezy towards the afternoon. Leading up to the match, it is expected to be warm and partly cloudy with 66% humidity. The wind speeds could increase towards the latter half of the second innings with wind gusts flowing at a rate of 55 km/h. All in all, a match is certainly expected to be played without any showers.
