Vikram Rathour praised Vaibhav Suryavanshi's maturity and temperament after his knock against Chennai Super Kings in the 62nd match of the IPL 2025 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The RR batting coach claimed Suryavanshi to be an impressive batter and added that the management had been working with him for the last three to four months.
While Rathour said that everyone in the management was aware of what Suryavanshi could bring to the table, he felt it was nice for him to execute his skills under pressure in the match. The star batter faced some of the best bowlers of the league like Khaleel Ahmed, Noor Ahmad, Anshul Kamboj, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin.
"Very impressive. We've been working with him for quite some time now, maybe three to four months, we have seen all these aspects, but it is great to see him performing well in games under pressure situations," said Rathour in the post-match press conference.

These kinds of experiences will definitely make him a better player: Rathour
The 56-year-old noted that there was a bit of movement in the air at the beginning of the second innings. He felt the emerging batter did not get enough strike in the Powerplay overs. Rathour said Suryavanshi's maturity and temperament were worth praising and added that his experience in such situations could help him evolve as a batter.
"In a big game like today, when he went in, the ball was doing a bit. He hardly got any deliveries and wasn't on strike much in the powerplay. The kind of maturity and temperament he showed was excellent. These kinds of experiences will definitely make him a better player going forward," Rathour added.
Suryavanshi has had a great debut season so far. The southpaw has scored 252 runs from seven innings at an average of 36.00 and a terrific strike rate of over 206. His highest score includes a 101(38) against Gujarat Titans, a new record for the fastest IPL ton by an Indian.
