The defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are taking on the inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata in Match 53 of IPL 2025. KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and elected to bat first. The choice paid off pretty well for the home team.
KKR top-order batters scored runs at a decent pace in the middle overs. After the wicket of Rahane for 30 off 24, Andre Russell joined the crease with Angkrish Raghuvanshi. The West Indies cricketer has not been in great form in the IPL 2025. But, in the clash against the men in pink, the all-rounder smashed 57* runs off just 25 balls, which included six towering sixes.
The 18th over was bowled by Maheesh Theekshana, and in the last three balls of that over went for back to back sixes. The fourth ball of the over bowled to the right-handed batter, and smashed the ball for half a dozen over long-on for a 91-metre six.

On the next ball of the over, the 37-year-old smashed the delivery over the spinnerβs head for an even bigger six of 94 metres. The last ball of the over was pitched up, and the Jamaican stayed in the crease and smoked the ball over wide long-off to complete the over. The 18th over went for 23 runs, and the RR bowlers struggled hard to restrict the KKR finisherβs mayhem.
