Los Angeles Waves CC - 84/8 in 10 overs (Shehan Fernando 26, Taha Badar 14, Amshi de Silva 13; Wahab Riaz 2/14, Gajanand Singh 1/10). Chicago CC - 71/5 in 10 overs (Sami Sohail 30, Dilshan Munaweera 17; Raj Nannan 1/11, Shehan Fernando 1/21). Los Angeles Waves CC won by 13 runs.

In Match No.5 of the National Cricket League T10 2025, Los Angeles Waves CC registered its first win of the season with a 13-run victory over Chicago CC. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Los Angeles Waves CC faced early challenges but managed to post 84/8 in their allotted 10 overs. Shehan Fernando’s 26 off 13 balls stabilized the innings after the team lost early wickets. He was well supported by contributions from skipper Taha Badar (14 off 10) and Amshi de Silva (13 off 9), as the Waves recovered from 31/3 to cross the 80-run mark.

For Chicago CC, Wahab Riaz and Gajanand Singh picked up key wickets and kept the opposition under pressure. Despite this, the Waves’ lower order ensured they had a total to fight with, finishing with 84 on the board.

Meanwhile, Chicago CC’s innings never got going. They lost Rajdeep Darbar in the first ball of the innings, as he was dismissed for a golden duck. The duo of Sami Sohail (30 off 24) and captain Dilshan Munaweera (17 off 16, retired out) tried to rebuild the innings, but lacked support from the middle order.

Los Angeles Waves’ bowlers, including Raj Nannan (1/11) and Timil Patel (0/10), controlled the run flow in the powerplay, while Shehan Fernando (1/21) and Amshi de Silva (0/11) ensured to further put the Chicago-based team on the back foot. Despite some fight from Riaz (13 off 10), the Chicago CC were restricted to 71/5 in their 10 overs, falling short by 13 runs.

With this result, the Waves opened their account in the points table and improved their net run rate ahead of their next clash against Dallas Lonestars CC. Meanwhile, Chicago CC’s remain winless after two games and will need to regroup quickly before facing the Houston Generals CC.
