In the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League in 2008, Mumbai Indians blew away their arch-rivals Kolkata Knight Riders to secure a famous victory at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Bowling first, MI bowlers gave the visiting side no chance as KKR was bundled out for just 67 runs, with Shaun Pollock taking three wickets.

Chasing a modest target, MI’s opener Sanath Jayasuriya came out all guns blazing, scoring an unbeaten 48 off 17. They chased down the target in just 5.3 overs, winning with 87 balls to spare. It remains the biggest margin of victory in terms of balls remaining in IPL history.
