Pakistan (PAK) and Bangladesh (BAN) will face off in the 31st match of the ODI World Cup 2023 on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. 

Pakistan come into the contest after losing to South Africa. Babar Azam and co. batted first and posted 270, thanks to half-centuries from Babar Azam (50) and Saud Shakeel (52). Shadab Khan also contributed with a valuable 43.

Despite Shaheen Afridi picking up three wickets and Haris Rauf, Mohammad Wasim Jr, and Usama Mir (2) taking two each, Pakistan were unable to prevent South Africa from chasing down the target. The Men in Green have won two of the six matches played so far and are currently placed sixth in the points table with a net run rate of -0.387. 

On the other hand, Bangladesh come into the contest after losing to the Netherlands in their previous match. Bangladesh bowled first and restricted the Dutch to 229/10 with Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, and Mahedi Hasan taking up two wickets each. In response, Mehidy Hasan Miraz (35) and Mahmudullah (20) made significant contributions, but no other batsman could get going as Bangladesh eventually lost the match by 87 runs.

Bangladesh have won only one of their six matches so far and are currently placed ninth in the points table with a net run rate of -1.338. The match is expected to be a close one, with either team capable of winning. Pakistan and Bangladesh are both looking to win the match and give each other a tough fight
