The cricketing trends on the social media revolved around a number of events. Hima Das from Assam won India’s first ever track gold at a global event by winning the 400 metre final in the World U20 Championships in Finland. She was showered with praises from the cricketing fraternity with the likes of Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir and many other pouring appreciations on her.
Mohammad Kaif announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on the same day when India won the 2002 NatWest Trophy Final, beating England at Lord’s. Virender Sehwag felt that Kaif timed his retirement to perfection. Kamran Akmal played for the Toronto Nationals in the Global Canada T20 and thanked the supporters and Darren Sammy, his captain. Wahab Riaz congratulated Pakistan on their victory over Zimbabwe by 201 runs.
Krunal Pandya uploaded a picture along with Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan. India A beat Windies A by five wickets in the second unofficial Test in Taunton and former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman was impressed by their performance. Deepak Chahar enjoyed Kuldeep Yadav, Rohit Sharma‘s performance and the Indian team’s victory against England at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Brendon McCullum shared a picture with his family while holidaying.
