Digvijay Deshmukh, the right-arm pacer from Maharashtra, recently came to the spotlight when he was picked by Mumbai Indians in IPL auction 2020 at his base price of 20 Lakhs. And, just after getting an IPL contract, he also got an opportunity to make his debut in Ranji Trophy 2019-20. But, he has been alleged for suspected bowling action in his first game for Maharashtra.

The 21-year-old all-rounder played seven games in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy this season and grabbed nine wickets. And, in debut Ranji Trophy game against Jammu & Kashmir, he took a total of six wickets and smashed 81 runs while batting at number eight. He has certainly emerged as the brightest stars across the country in a very short span of time.

MCA secretary opines on Digvijay Deshmukh’s suspected bowling action

Later on, Riyaz Bagwan, the MCA secretary said that they had received a detailed report about Digvijay Deshmukh and they had forwarded it to the team manager and coach. He also added the fact that although the 21-year-old is not suspended but he was excluded from the Ranji Trophy squad with immediate effect.

Riyaz recited that Deshmukh was recently picked by Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2020 auction and they don’t want to lower his confidence down. The young cricketer is an extremely good bowler and will be traveling to the MRF pace foundation where his action will be observed and if there is any error then it will be rectified.

“He was reported for suspect bowling action in the previous match. We have received the letter from the match officials regarding details of the incidence/s i.e. innings, over No., and time. I have handed that letter to the team manager and the coach but I am unaware of the details of it.

“Although he is not suspended (from bowling) we do not want to take any risk and have excluded him from the squad for the Ranji game vs Chhattisgarh. He was recently picked by Mumbai Indians in the IPL auction and getting suspended could affect his confidence, which we want to avoid, as he is an extremely good bowler. He will be travelling to Chennai on Thursday, where his action will be rectified,” Bagwan added,” Riyaz Bagwan said as quoted by Times of India.
