In the first match of 2016 IPL edition, Rising Pune Supergiants’ medium pacer Rajat Bhatia recorded economical bowling figures by conceding just 10 runs in his 4 overs against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium. He picked up Kieron Pollard’s wicket in his first over, which was also a maiden.

However, any economical bowling figures have been recorded in IPL than Bhatia’s. Among 4-overs spells, Fidel Edwards’ 4-1-6-0 for Deccan Chargers vs KKR and Ashish Nehra’s 4-1-6-1 for Delhi Daredevils vs KXIP in 2009 are the most economical figures. Rahul Sharma’s 4-0-7-2 for Pune Warriors vs Mumbai Indians in 2011 stands next in this list. About 9 instances of bowlers conceding exactly 8 runs in their 4 overs have been recorded in IPL so far.
