Emirates Cricket has announced the second season of the Emirates D10 tournament in partnership with ITW Consulting. The tournament is the flagship domestic T10 tournament of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB). The first edition was hosted successfully by the board which has also given them the confidence to schedule the second season.

A total of six teams will be taking part in the competition. The top five domestic teams, Dubai, Ajman, Sharjah, Fujairah and Abu Dhabi along with a team named Emirates Blues will take part in the competition. The Emirates Blues is a team that has been formed by the Emirates Cricket Board.

A total of 33 matches will be played in the tournament in which the six teams will be seen taking on each other on two occasions. The top four ranked teams will qualify for the knock-out stages in which two semi-finals will be played, followed by the final. The opening match will be played on March 24 while the final will be played on April 5.

All the matches of the tournament will be played at Sharjah Cricket Ground. A special one-off women’s match will also be played before the final. The match has been organized to help the development of women’s cricket in the region.

Khalid Al Zarooni, Vice-Chairman Emirates Cricket Board, said: “On behalf of the board I am very happy to announce the second edition of our Domestic 10-over tournament, the Emirates D10, and we are extremely excited to bring our talented women’s players into our flagship tournament.

Three matches will be played on each day of the competition with a total of 30 matches in the league stages. The semifinals and final will be played on the same day, April 5. Emirates Blues are the defending champions of the tournament, having won the first season which was played in July and August 2020.

The tournament will present a good opportunity to see the international players of the United Arab Emirates cricket team. Most of the players in the national team don’t generally get proper chances to play, but this tournament will allow them to get some time on the field.
