England fixtures for the ICC World Cup 2015: They are the creators of Gentleman’s game, they have taught cricket to every nation who plays it, they have hosted the World Cup most number of times yet they have never been crowned Champions of World; England have never won the cricket world cup. This is a fact which is extremely hard to swallow for any Englishman who follows cricket. Thus England will leave no stone unturned this February March 2015 to vanish this black spot of not winning the World Cup from their history.
England are placed in Pool A with Australia, SriLanka, New Zeland , Scotland , Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
Match 2 – England Vs Australia (MCG) – 14th Feb
This match is scheduled to be played on Valentine’s day but there will be no love when these two arch rivals meet for their opening match at the historic MCG .
Match 9 – England Vs NewZeland (Wellington) – 20th Feb
This contest is going to be a humdinger as both the teams are evenly matched on paper.
Match 14 – England Vs Scotland (Christchurch) – 23rd Feb
On paper it might not look to be the most intense contest but let’s not forget Ireland another neighbor of England upset them in the last world cup so this World Cup might be the chance of Scotland to replicate that performance.
Match 22 – England Vs SriLanka (Wellington) – 1st March
Australia and New Zealand both are playing in their home conditions so they are favorites to finish 1st and 2nd in this group hence this match might decide who finishes 3rd and who finishes last in this group.
Match 34 – England Vs Bangladesh (Adelaide) – 10th march
England can’t afford to take this match lightly as Bangladesh in the past World Cup have shown they are more than capable of upsetting a big team on the big platform.
Match 38 – Engalnd Vs Afghanistan (SCG) – 13th March
This will be the last match of England’s group stage and probably their easiest match of the tournament.England will hope their key men in both the departments of the game will be in prime form as they will look to break the jinx of performing poorly in ICC Tournaments specially World Cup and get the English fans something to cheer about with the world cup 2015 trophy.
