Former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis has finally recovered from some memory loss, which had happened during the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Apparently while playing for Quetta Gladiators, the 36-year-old collided with Mohammad Hasnain while trying to take a catch near the boundary rope against Peshawar Zalmi.

Du Plessis collided with the bowler and his head banged in the knees of Hasnain. The South African batter immediately pulled out of the tournament and returned to his country.

He was soon seeing taking rest and recovering from the head injury, which apparently made him lose some memory too.  But now, the right-hand batter has recovered from a nasty injury and he was seen enjoying a much-needed break with the family. Before taking part in PSL, du Plessis was also seen playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The right-hand batter also posted a Tweet on his official account and he thanked his fans and followers for his continuous support.

After a lot of time, he got together with his wife Imari and his two kids. The 36-year-old also shared a picture of his on his social media handle and was seen pretty relaxed and happy. Although the former South African captain bid goodbye to the Test set-up, he is available for selection for the other two formats of the game.

Faf du Plessis has to wait for his chances in the South African team

Strangely, the selectors while naming the squad for the West Indies tour ignored the experienced player. Rather, the management went with the youth like the likes of Aiden Markram, Kyle Verreynne, and Hennrich Klassen. Interestingly, du Plessis has scored 1528 runs at an average of 35.53 in the shortest format for the Proteas. Also, with the team rebuilding and quite a few experienced players stepping away, the 36-year-old would have been an asset to the team by lending a bit of solidity in the batting department.

But no, he still has to wait for his chances for the time being. After returning from the Caribbean, the Proteas will head to Ireland to play a limited-overs series starting from July 11. It would be interesting to know if the selectors call the experienced player in the team.
