The Indian Test team has seen some of the best hands in the country wielding the ‘red cherry’ in their hands and working their magic to dismiss batsmen effortlessly. And, the names that come to our minds when Indian bowlers are talked about are that of Harbhajan Singh for his epic performance in the Kolkata Test, Irfan Pathan for his first over hat-trick against Pakistan, and Anil Kumble for his 10 wickets in a single inning, among the many.

But, in spite of all of them featuring on one or the other G.O.A.T. lists, not all of them were are as fast as their counterparts to get to 50 wickets in Test matches. The ones to reach the milestone didn’t take much time in ruffling feathers of batters around the globe in most traditional format of the sport.

Here’s the list of the 5 Indian bowlers who got to 50 wickets in Test matches in almost no time.

Unarguably one of the best bowlers in international cricket currently, Jasprit Bumrah recently became the member of this elite club. The right-arm pacer has been the spearhead of the Indian bowling attack in the shorter formats of the game and has dominated the opposition batsmen, all thanks to his excellent skill to bowl yorkers at will. But his achievements in Test matches is also no mean feat.

Bumrah has also worked his magic with the red ball and has been able to tame the batsmen even in the longest format of the game. The 25-year old has proven to be the find of the Indian bowling department in the past half a decade.

In the initial days, having performed with the white ball, there was a looming doubt that whether he could be an equally effective Test bowler or not? But, all doubts were cleared on 5th of January 2018 in South Africa’s Newlands Cricket Ground, where Jasprit Bumrah took complete advantage of the pacer friendly conditions and announced his arrival.

And, in no time, to be precise, just 11 matches and 2,524 balls later playing against the West Indies at North Sound, Jasprit Bumrah found his name amongst the greatest in Indian cricket, becoming the 5th fastest bowler to get to 50 wickets in Test cricket.
