Five birthday wishes that did not arrive for Virat Kohli on his 29th birthday

If we trace Virat’s career, the leanest patch in terms of the run came during India’s tour to England where they lost the Test series by 3-1. Kohli kept nicking balls outside the off stump from Anderson and was dismissed in each of the innings he played cheaply.

Fast Forward a couple of years, a hapless English side faced a 4-0 defeat at the hands of the Indians where a spirited home side took revenge of the humiliating loss overseas. Virat had a spectacular Mumbai Test match where he slammed 235 in a difficult situation to take India towards safety.

However, James Anderson had a different view on the matter as he stated that VK is just a flat track bully and his technical shortcomings are hidden at home. Further, the leading wicket-taker claimed that Kohli was the biggest flop when the Indians toured England back in 2014.

Only time will tell if this hypothesis from Anderson holds true or not as Kohli would have a thing or two to prove when India travels England in July 2018.
