Rahul Dravid and Chaminda Vaas have their significance in International cricket even though both played under the shadow of Sachin Tendulkar and Muttiah Muralitharan respectively. Dravid finished with 10889 runs in the 341 ODIs standing at No.9 in all-time run-getters in this format while Vaas was among the top four wicket-takers in this format with exactly 400 wickets to his name.

However, both these players were never the recipients of a man of the series award in ODI cricket. Dravid was the man of the match on 14 occasions in this format while Vaas received the match award of 11 instances. The two Asians are the only players to feature in 300+ ODIs without ever receiving a man of the series award.
