The Mumbai lad has reinvented himself after he was promoted up the order to open the innings. This move worked wonders for him as well as the team. After more than four years since this move was made, another move proved to be a landmark in his career. While he was the interim skipper of the side, Rohit Sharma batted with a lot of responsibility and determination just like he does with the Mumbai Indians.

He takes it in his stride to score the crucial runs to put the team in a better position. In the 17 limited-overs matches where he led the team, the Mumbai batsman has amassed 880 runs at an average of 62.85 including the highest score of 208*. In ODIs alone, he averages 106.8 which is phenomenal for an opener scoring 534 runs in eight outings including two centuries. As far as the T20Is are concerned, his average of 40 is more than decent as well.
