Team India came up with a thoroughly dominant performance in the T20I series against England recently. They beat the much fancied hosts by a margin of 2-1. Now, the action has moved to the ODI series and many feel that the Indian team can give England a run for their money in the ODIs too. However, if the words of former English skipper Michael Vaughan are to be believed, then England will certainly bounce back.

The English side has been sporting an aggressive brand of cricket in the white-ball form of the game over the last couple of years. Ever since their poor show in the World Cup 2015, the team has regrouped tremendously well to succeed in the ODI format.

They are being tipped to be the favorites to lift the next edition of the World Cup. For now, as they host the Indian side for a three match series, the eyes would be on them as how they regroup after the T20I series defeat. Michael Vaughan took to social media platform Instagram to give his prediction for the short series. The former England captain backed the England side to beat team India by 2-1.

The top performers?

Vaughan also predicted the top performers for both the sides in the competition. For England, Michael Vaughan believes Jonny Bairstow will be the best batter in the series. Bairstow has been in top batting form in the recent times. In the bowling department, Vaughan feels Liam Plunkett will be the star for the hosts.

Meanwhile, for the Indian team, Vaughan believes that Rohit Sharma will continue his good form with the bat. Rohit scored a series defining ton in the final T20I against the English side. Also, Vaughan conceded that Hardik Pandya will finish as the leading wicket-taker for the Indian team in the series.

Here is the post that Michael Vaughan came up with:

“Prediction time … #ENGvIND @mrgreen_casino #2-1 !!!!!” he captioned the short video that he posted.
