The Hindi film industry has been a witness to a plethora of actresses plying their trade on the silver screen. However, there have been some heroines who managed to capture the audience’s imagination with their ravishing outlook and acting prowess, Sridevi is one of them. She was hailed one of the prettiest faces in Bollywood who etched an indelible impact on the psyche of movie buffs.

However, thunder stroke at the wrong time and death embraced her recently at the age of 54. The actor, the wife of Boney Kapoor, breathed her last yesterday night in Dubai owing to a cardiac arrest. The veteran was present in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) along with her family to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding and passed away.

The Indian film fraternity, her family, and several other eminent faces have been in utter shock and mourned the demise of the legendary actress. The likes of Sachin Tendulkar and several other sports personalities also shared heartfelt messages on the social media platform. Recently, Gautam Gambhir also took to Twitter and expressed his gratitude to the deceased actress.

Sridevi- An epitome of class and flair

Sridevi made her acting debut at the age of four in 1969 when she acted in a Tamil movie ‘Thunaivan’. Bollywood debut with ‘Sola Sawan’ in 1978. However, her major breakthrough came five years later in 1983 with Jeetendra-starrer ‘Himmatwala’ and she hasn’t looked back ever since. Thereafter, her career-graph escalated as she went on to act in movies like ‘Chaalbaaz’, ‘Nagina’ and “Khuda Gawah” alongside the evergreen Amitabh Bachchan.

Gradually, she became one of the most sought-after figures in the Indian film industry and was also anointed with the prestigious Padma Shri Award, the fourth highest civilian award, in 2013. Apart from Bollywood, the Tamil Nadu-born heroine also acted in Telegu, Malayalam and Kannada films.
