Matthew Wade is competitive and hard on field, loving and supporting off it: Wife Julia Barry

Matthew Wade’s wife Julia Barry Wade has shared some interesting facts about the cricketer and said that he is a totally different personality on the field as compared to what he is at home. Julia praised her husband for his determination and dedication towards the game, especially for his home side Australia.

Wade made his international debut in 2011 when he represented the team in the T20I format against South Africa. It was soon followed by his ODI debut when he was included in the squad for the series against India. His Test debut was against West Indies where he notched up his maiden Test ton during the series. He is currently playing for the finalists Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2022.

“Matthew Wade on the cricket pitch is different to Matthew Wade at home. Matthew Wade the cricketer, he crosses that white line and is there to fight and win, he’s competitive and he goes hard. Matthew Wade the best friend, the family man, is a lover; he’s my supporter, and he’s my biggest cheerleader. He loves our girls like nothing else everything. He’s definitely had hard moments in cricket but it brought us stronger together,” said Julia in a video shared by the franchise.

She also spoke about how the time apart has brought them closer and built their relationship stronger. Wade had to leave his second daughter just four days after her birth due to his national commitments, which shows how dedicated he is to his game.

Meanwhile, Wade is with the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 and the franchise became the first team to qualify for the playoffs after ending up on the top spot in the points table. A victory against Rajasthan Royals in the Qualifier 1 ensured their place in the finals of the IPL 2022. The Titans had an amazing outing in their maiden season as they now eye for a title win to mark their arrival in style.
