Hasan Ali is an integral part of the Pakistan cricket team. Ali plays a crucial role with the ball in hand for the Pakistan side and has taken 188 wickets for his country in all three formats of the game put together.

And now, the Pakistan cricketer has opened up and stated that he has always wanted to be an all-rounder. Adding that he is happy that he is contributing to his side with the willow as well, Ali stated that he worked on his batting skills when he was away from the sport because of injury.

Ali also threw light on Pakistan’s upcoming limited-overs assignment against the Eoin Morgan-led England side. He opined that the upcoming series against England is an important one for the Pakistan side. The right-arm pacer concluded by stating that he has great memories of playing in England, with the 2017 Champions Trophy victory being the icing on the cake.

“I always wanted to become an all-rounder, and I am happy besides my bowling, I am contributing in a team with my batting as well. While I was away from cricket for two years due to injury, I worked on my batting especially hard-hitting ability at NHPC.

The white-ball series against England is very important for us, as England are the World Champions in ODIs and are also the top-ranked side in T20Is. England has been always lucky to me, as I have my great memories from England tour in the past, winning ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 in England is on top of it,” said Ali as quoted by the official website of the PCB.

Hasan Ali and Younis Khan’s resignation

There were rumours that Younis Khan had quit as the batting coach of the Pakistan cricket team because he had entered into a tiff with Hasan Ali. But then, Younis Khan came forward and quashed all those rumours and clearly said that Hasan Ali was not the reason why he decided to quit his role.

“Hasan Ali apologised to me, and I had forgiven him. To play up the Hasan Ali incident (and use it) as a possible reason for my resignation comes as a surprise to me,” said Younis Khan.
