The International Cricket Council (ICC) has been working on a lot of measures to engage with the fans and one of these is certainly by revealing the ICC Player of the month for male and female cricketers. The ICC Voting Academy, consisting of former players, broadcasters, and journalists from around the world will all participate in a voting system while the fans will have the privilege to vote for the player of the month as well as a minority.
This has proved to be an excellent gesture from ICC to honour the best performances in a month and it has increased the appetite for the players to continue their good work. It has also acted as a method to acknowledge the hard work of the cricketers through the fantastic awards.
Coming to the year 2022, Keegan Petersen from South Africa and Heather Knight from England were the two winners at the start of the year. Mohammad Rizwan from Pakistan and Harmanpreet Kaur from India were the latest winners for the month of September and the list hasn’t had a player winning the award more than once in a year. The player stats will be helpful for the ICC voting academy to narrow down the performances and pick based on their consistency.
This has also increased the excitement among the fans to follow all Cricket Live Scores and know more about player stats.
As far as the Indians are concerned, only Shreyas Iyer and Harmanpreet Kaur have featured this year in the ICC player of the month award and a lot more would be expected in the next three months in an action-packed schedule. The T20 World Cup 2022 starts in a few days' time and the players will get their chances to grab the player of the month award for October through the mega ICC event.
