ICC World Cup 2019: Zaheer Khan picks his England’s squad for the tournament
Zaheer has made some interesting selections.

With the World Cup only a few months away, every team is trying to find the best possible combination. The teams would be hoping to field the best possible XI as it is a big stage for teams to showcase their potentials. In the run-up to the big event, former cricketers and analysts are coming up with their choice of squads for the respective teams.
The latest entrant into this club is former Indian fast bowler Zaheer Khan who picked his squad for the England team for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 while speaking to Cricbuzz. Most of the members are going to be the first choice of the selection panel when they sit for the squad selection. But there are some interesting inclusions by Zaheer which makes the team look a bit different.
Jason Roy, Johnny Bairstow and Alex Hales form the top order
Zaheer Khan has selected Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow and Alex Hales as his formidable top order. The three have been the mainstay of England’s batting, especially at the top order. Joe Root will again be the backbone of the batting unit. As expected, Eoin Morgan is going to lead the team as England aim their maiden silverware in the 50-over format.
For the middle order, the former India fast bowler has included Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler to his squad. The duo has been in a fantastic form lately and are expected to carry their great form into the World Cup as well. Buttler is expected to handle the duties behind the wicket.
Moeen Ali is going to fill in the place for a spin all-rounder. He is known for his batting lower down the order and his handy bowling. Another excellent choice for an all-rounder is Chris Woakes who provides a good fast bowling option.
Jofra Archer can prove to be a surprise inclusion
The surprise element in Zaheer’s squad is the inclusion of flamboyant all-rounder Jofra Archer. His excellent bowling skills could prove to be a big boost for the England squad. The other players accompanying the squad are Adil Rashid, Mark Wood and Liam Plunkett. Mark Wood and Liam Plunkett can prove to be good fast bowling options.
For the two spots left Zaheer has chosen four players. Joe Denly, Sam Curran, David Willey and Chris Jordan would have to fight for the two spots left in the squad.
