Indian cricketing legend Mahendra Singh Dhoni is an inspiration to millions around the world. The former Indian cricketer is hailed for keeping a cool head on the cricket field and is someone who does not get flustered even in a dire situation.
And ‘Captain Cool’ is one of the most revered and celebrated sportspersons in India. And, Dhoni has acted as an inspiration for Paralympic athlete, Ranjit Singh as well. Singh met with an accident in 2012, and his injury was so severe, that he was put on a ventilator for 4 weeks.
And now, he is unable to walk on a normal basis due to the severity of the injury that he sustained on his right leg during the accident.

And, Ranjit Singh was inspired by the film that was taken based on the life of MS Dhoni titled, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. Ranjit quit his job post the accident, and will now represent India in the Paralympics in the javelin throw category.
In fact, in the trials, Ranjit Singh threw a distance of 44.50 Metres and is now a part of the Indian Paralympic contingent. Even though Ranjit’s parents were hesitant to allow their son into the field of sport, Ranjit defied all odds and will now represent his country in the Paralympics this year. Ranjit earlier won a silver medal in the Javelin throw competition in the Haryana State Championship that was conducted three years ago.
MS Dhoni, on the other hand, retired from the international arena on 15th August 2020. He has represented the Indian side in 90 Tests, 350 ODIs, and 98 T20Is. Dhoni has also led India to innumerable titles during his tenure as the skipper of the Indian cricket team.
India won the 2007 T20 World Cup, lifted the 2011 fifty-over World Cup trophy, as well as the 2013 Champions Trophy title as well, under Dhoni. Dhoni is still a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and is the skipper of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) side in the tournament. The cricketing icon will next be seen on the cricket field when the second leg of the IPL commences on 19th September 2021 in the UAE.
