Virat Kohli was at the receiving end for the third time as the Hitman ran him out once again in the fourth ODI against Sri Lanka at the Eden Gardens. It was the comeback match for Rohit after a long injury lay-off. Both of them had come together with the team’s score at 59/2 and were looking comfortable. Kohli was playing rather comfortably on 66 with the partnership crossing 200 runs.

Kohli slogged the fifth ball of the 39th over to the deep and the fielder Seekuge Prasanna did well to stop the ball despite not being able to catch it. He collected the ball and threw it towards the keeper Dinesh Chandimal and Kohli was short of his crease as he had hesitated for the second run. Eventually, he had to sacrifice his wicket for his partner who was looking good at the other end.

As it turned out, it was the historic game for Rohit. He went to break the record of the highest individual score by smashing 264 runs off 173 balls only and his knock was studded with 33 fours and nine gigantic maximums. India posted a mammoth total of 404 runs in their fifty overs and also won the game by a huge margin of 153 runs.
