The Rising Pune Supergiant once again had the upper hand over the Mumbai Indians as they bagged a comprehensive win over them to march into the finals. Pune hopped to 121/3 in the first 18 overs but some brilliant hitting from MS Dhoni pushed their total to 162/3 with 41 runs coming in the final two overs.

Parthiv Patel started off the chase with a quick-fire innings but the home side lost 4 wickets in quick span starting from Simmons’ run out following which Washington Sundar dismissed the likes of Rohit, Rayudu and Pollard. Wickets falling at regular intervals and lack of partnerships pushed MI to play the Qualifier 2 as they have another chance of making it to the finals.
