The Royal Challengers Bangalore camp have received a major boost. Their regular skipper Virat Kohli has been declared match fit for the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League 2017. Kohli had missed the first three matches for the RCB camp. His absence certainly did hurt the team as they lost two of those three fixtures. The absence of a player like Virat Kohli from the top order is always a big blow to any team.

The Indian skipper had sustained a shoulder injury during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. It was during the third Test at Ranchi when a diving effort from Kohli saw him land hard on his shoulder. He came out to bat in the match but was subsequently ruled out from the final Test of the series. Soon after the series, the reports about him missing the initial bit of the IPL 10 surfaced the media.

Now, after having missed the first three games of his franchise, the ace batsman is ready to play in the next match. Royal Challengers Bangalore will be hosting the Mumbai Indians at their home venue in Bengaluru. The hype to the match is expected to be huge with two flashy sides on the cards. Kohli’s fitness was reported by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an official statement release.

“The Indian Captain had undergone rehabilitation after sustaining an injury to his right shoulder and has now recovered to be able to participate in VIVO IPL 2017,” the BCCI statement quoted.

Needless to say, Virat Kohli has been an integral part of the RCB setup and has been associated with the franchise since the first edition. He was the leading run-scorer in the IPL 2016. Kohli, the winner of the Orange Cap last year, had accumulated 973 runs in the tournament with 4 tons to his name.
