IPL 2017: Delhi Daredevils – Statistical Preview

Delhi Daredevils are one of the most unpredictable teams in IPL history. They had some good performances in initial stages but have seen lows later on finishing at the bottom in a couple of seasons. They have the worst win-loss among the active IPL teams. The DD team management has kept shuffling their entire squad for every new season recently.

Here we look at all the records and stats related to Delhi Daredevils in the IPL:

2 – Number of times Delhi Daredevils topped the league stage table in IPL: in 2009 and in 2012. DD and Chennai Super Kings are only teams to top the league more than once in IPL so far.

2 – Number of times Delhi Daredevils bagged a wooden spoon i.e. ending at the bottom of the league table in a season. The finished at the bottom in 2011 and 2013. Kings XI Punjab (3 times) is only another team to finish at the bottom in more than once season.

5 – Number of players scored centuries playing for Delhi Daredevils, the 2nd most number of players scoring tons for a single team in IPL. AB de Villiers, David Warner (2), Virender Sehwag, Kevin Pietersen and Quinton de Kock scored hundreds while playing for DD in IPL

7 – Number of times Delhi Daredevils bowled out under 100 in IPL so far, the most times by any team in IPL history. No other team got bowled out under 100 in IPL even on 5 occasions.

9 – Number of captains Delhi Daredevils have had in IPL so far, the joint most for a team. Kings XI Punjab also has 9 captains in IPL.

11 – Number of consecutive matches Delhi Daredevils lost in IPL between 2014 and 2015 seasons, the joint longest losing for any team in IPL. Pune Warriors too lost in 11 consecutive games between 2012 and 2013 season.

43.12 – Delhi Daredevils’ win percentage in IPL of 43.12 is the 2nd lowest for any team which had played 50 games in IPL. Worst is Deccan Chargers’ win percentage of 38.66.

74 – Number of matches Delhi Daredevils have lost in IPL so far, the most by any team.

112 – Number of matches Amit Mishra has played in IPL so far. He is the only player among the current Delhi Daredevils’ squad with 100+ appearances in IPL.

1040 – Runs scored by Sanju Samson in IPL so far, the most runs for a player among the current Delhi Daredevils squad. With JP Duminy ruled out of the tournament, Samson remains the only player with 1000+ IPL runs in the DD squad.
