Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been one of the most celebrated teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise captained by Mahendra Singh Dhoni has garnered a tremendous amount of fan-base as the tournament has progressed. Recently, the team played their first game at the Chepauk against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after a gap of three years.

However, the Cauvery Water Dispute (CWD) has taken a toll in the city. Subsequently, several political parties resorted to protests and asked for the home matches of the franchise to be shifted out of Chennai. Thereafter, the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune has been made the venue for the remainder of CSKs home games.

The Whistlepodu Express for CSK

Nevertheless, the supporters of the team haven’t given up on the hopes of watching their heroes live at the venue. As per reports in The Times of India, the franchise has organized an entire train to Pune by the name of Whistlepodu Express for 1000 fans. The initiative has been taken as a goodwill gesture for the love and admiration of the fans ever since the inception of the tournament in 2008.

The fans would be given complimentary passes along with free accommodation and food in Pune. Recently, the official Twitter handle of CSK posted a video of the train and the fans swarming beside the train. The message wrote

“#WhistlePoduExpress all set to storm Pune with #YelLove”

Chennai Super Kings has played three games thus far in the tournament out of which they have won a couple. They started their campaign against the Mumbai Indians where Dwayne Bravo helped the team snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Against the Knights, Sam Billings’ breezy half-century on his debut for the team got CSK over the line. However, they lost against Kings XI Punjab and would now be playing tomorrow against the Rajasthan Royals in Pune.
