IPL 2018: Kings XI Punjab schedule for the season

Coming in to the IPL 2018 auctions, the Kings XI Punjab looked like a franchise on a mission. Having missed the trick in the last three seasons of the IPL, the think tank were keen on getting the best possible combinations for the upcoming edition of the tournament. At one stage of the auctions, they went on a shopping spree buying five players on a trot.

The Kings XI Punjab have invested quite a lot to bring the services KL Rahul in the side. Furthermore, they have also added veteran players like Yuvraj Singh and Ravichandran Ashwin to the roster. While most of the boxes seem to be ticked correctly, the clouds do hover over their captaincy. It will be interesting to see how they go forward with their captaincy decisions.

The IPL schedule is out for the 2018 edition and the KXIP franchise would want to make amends this year around. KXIP was the team to beat in the 2014 edition of the tournament. They had ended as the finalists of the tournament back then. However, they have only been a shadow of that side since then. They have finished as the wooden spoon winners on a couple of occasions since then.

This year, they will not be having all their home games in Mohali. The two shortlisted venue for their home matches this season are the Holkar Stadium in Indore, and the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. The first match for the Kings this year would be against the Delhi Daredevils on April 8. It will be a day match.

The next match will also be an away game for the Kings and it will be played in Bengaluru against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 13. The first home match for the Kings this season will be against the Chennai Super Kings in Indore.
