The Chennai Super Kings have managed to extend their dominating run in the IPL 2018. They recently beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad in an away fixture at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. It was a thrilling encounter that took place between the two powerpacked sides. Chasing a total of 182 in the game, the hosts almost managed to reach the target.

Some sensational power hitting from Kane Williamson and Yusuf Pathan got them very close to the winning total. Also, Rashid Khan hit a couple of sixes and a four to give a massive scare to the Chennai Super Kings in the final overs. Eventually, Dwayne Bravo held his nerve to defend 6 on the final ball and ensured a four run for his side.

Earlier in the game, CSK were asked to bat first. After a sluggish start followed by the dismissals of both openers, Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu played handy knocks to put their side in a commanding position. MS Dhoni also chipped in with a cameo to propel the final score to 182 in the stipulated 20 overs.

Here are the Chennai Super Kings player ratings for the match:

Shane Watson – 1/10

Shane Watson was the star of the show for the Chennai Super Kings in the previous game. He failed to back up his good work in this game though. He struggled against the new ball bowlers and could only muster 9 runs off 15 deliveries before being dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Faf du Plessis – 1/10

Faf du Plessis played his first match of the season today. The veteran batsman was asked to open the innings with Shane Watson. He struggled to get his feet going and that did not help the cause of CSK. He was stumped by Wriddhiman Saha off the bowling of Rashid Khan on 11.

Suresh Raina – 8/10

Suresh Raina played a very sensible knock in the match. Raina played the perfect second fiddle to Ambati Rayudu in the match. He remained unbeaten on 54 off 43 deliveries with five fours and a couple of sixes to his name. Raina had played a decent knock in the previous game as well. His form will please the Chennai camp.

Ambati Rayudu – 9/10

Ambati Rayudu stole the show with his whirlwind knock on the day. Rayudu, who has always played in the middle-order, was tested as on opener this season. Rayudu blasted a quick 79 off 37 deliveries with 9 fours and 4 sixes to give the impetus to the CSK innings.

MS Dhoni – 7/10
