The Chennai Super Kings have managed to extend their dominating run in the IPL 2018. They recently beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad in an away fixture at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. It was a thrilling encounter that took place between the two powerpacked sides. Chasing a total of 182 in the game, the hosts almost managed to reach the target.
Some sensational power hitting from Kane Williamson and Yusuf Pathan got them very close to the winning total. Also, Rashid Khan hit a couple of sixes and a four to give a massive scare to the Chennai Super Kings in the final overs. Eventually, Dwayne Bravo held his nerve to defend 6 on the final ball and ensured a four run for his side.
Earlier in the game, CSK were asked to bat first. After a sluggish start followed by the dismissals of both openers, Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu played handy knocks to put their side in a commanding position. MS Dhoni also chipped in with a cameo to propel the final score to 182 in the stipulated 20 overs.

Shane Watson was the star of the show for the Chennai Super Kings in the previous game. He failed to back up his good work in this game though. He struggled against the new ball bowlers and could only muster 9 runs off 15 deliveries before being dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Faf du Plessis – 1/10
Faf du Plessis played his first match of the season today. The veteran batsman was asked to open the innings with Shane Watson. He struggled to get his feet going and that did not help the cause of CSK. He was stumped by Wriddhiman Saha off the bowling of Rashid Khan on 11.
Suresh Raina – 8/10
Suresh Raina played a very sensible knock in the match. Raina played the perfect second fiddle to Ambati Rayudu in the match. He remained unbeaten on 54 off 43 deliveries with five fours and a couple of sixes to his name. Raina had played a decent knock in the previous game as well. His form will please the Chennai camp.
Ambati Rayudu – 9/10
Ambati Rayudu stole the show with his whirlwind knock on the day. Rayudu, who has always played in the middle-order, was tested as on opener this season. He found decent success but in this game, when he got to bat in the middle-order, he showed some serious mettle. Rayudu blasted a quick 79 off 37 deliveries with 9 fours and 4 sixes to give the impetus to the CSK innings.
MS Dhoni – 7/10
MS Dhoni shuffled his bowlers very well in the match. Earlier in the game, he played a very handy cameo to give the final flourish to the Chennai Super Kings innings. Dhoni, after having arrived in the 17th over, hammered a quick 25 off just 12 balls with 3 fours and a six to propel the CSK total past the 180-run mark.
Sam Billings – Not Assigned
Sam Billings did not have a major role to play in the game. He did not get his opportunity to bat in the match.
Dwayne Bravo – 8/10
Dwayne Bravo did not get a chance to bat in the game but the Windies all-rounder made his presence felt with the ball. He bowled the final over of the game and successfully defended 18 runs to win the game for his side. He finished with figures of 1/37 in the three overs that he bowled. He took the big wicket of Kane Williamson to change the course of the game.
Ravindra Jadeja – 5.5/10
Ravindra Jadeja finally got a complete spell to bowl in the season. In the past few games, he had only been bowling one over per game. In this particular game, with no Imran Tahir in the side, Jadeja got his share of four overs. He failed to take a wicket and conceded 28 runs.
Deepak Chahar – 9.5/10
Deepak Chahar oozed some serious aggresion with the ball on the day. His fiery opening spell saw the hosts reeling on 22/3 in the fifth over of the game. He dismisssed Ricky Bhui in very first over for a duck. In his next over, he sent Manish Pandey packing for a duck and then got the wicket of Deepak Hooda too. In the four overs that he bowled on the day, Chahar returned with figures of 3/15.
Karn Sharma – 5/10
Karn Sharma had a phenomenal start to his spell on the day. In the first two overs that he bowled, he gave away just 8 runs and took the wicket of Shakib Al Hasan. In the next over, he was taken away for 22 runs that spoiled his final figures for the day – 3-0-30-1.
Shardul Thakur – 5/10
Shardul Thakur was a tad expensive with the ball in the match. Towards the fag end of the innings, he was taken away for a plenty of runs by the SRH batsmen. He returned with figures of 1/45 in the four overs that he bowled. He bagged the big wicket of Yusuf Pathan in the penultimate over to give an edge to the Chennai Super Kings in the match.
