The Royal Challengers Bangalore became the 2nd team to be knocked out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 as they suffered a 30-run defeat at the hands of Rajasthan Royals in their last league game. The home side posted a stiff total of 164/5 on the board as Rahul Tripathi scored an unbeaten 80 opening the innings. RCB set up towards a record chase in Jaipur as they were cruising at 75/1 in the 9th over and looked like they will end up improving their NRR. However, Shreyas Gopal’s 4-wicket haul changed the course of the game as the visitors were bundled out for just 134.

Here are the key stats and numbers recorded during the game that knocked RCB out of IPL 2018:

1AB de Villiers scored fifty-plus scores in three consecutive innings for the first time in his Twenty20 and IPL careers. He scored 69 in the previous game against SRH and an unbeaten 72 against Delhi Daredevils.

3 – Heinrich Klaasen effected three stumpings in this match which is the joint-most for any wicketkeeper in an IPL match. MS Dhoni executed three stumpings in the CSK vs KKR matches in 2010 and 2011 seasons while Robin Uthappa also effected three stumpings in the 2017 match for KKR against RPS.

3Jofra Archer‘s three ducks this season are the joint-most for a Rajasthan Royals player in an IPL. Shane Warne also bagged three ducks for RR in the IPL 2009.

4 – Klaasen’s four dismissals behind the wickets in this game included three stumpings and one catch. These are the joint 2nd most for any wicketkeeper in an IPL match. Only Kumar Sangakkara (5 for DC vs RCB in 2011) had more than four dismissals in an IPL game. Klaasen is also the first wicketkeeper from Rajasthan Royals to have managed four dismissals in an IPL match.

4 – This is only the 4th fifty-plus score for AB de Villiers in the Twenty20 format that has ended on the losing side. De Villiers had 20 fifty-plus scores while chasing in T20s with 16 of them in his team’s wins. The last time his fifty in this format went in an unsuccessful cause was 53 against KXIP in 2014. Since then, de Villiers scored ten T20 fifties in successful chases before this match.

8Virat Kohli got out 11 times in this IPL out of which eight times he was dismissed by the spinners. No spinner managed to get him out in the previous IPL season.
