Rajasthan Royals (RR):

Led by dashing Australian captain Steve Smith, former champions RR do not have any big name in their spin department and that could be a concern for their bowling. The likes of Gowtham Krishnappa (the most expensive uncapped player) and Shreyas Gopal have caught attention but will they be enough for the RR bowling side to prevail over their opponents?
D’Arcy Short and Zahir Khan are only specialist foreign spinners while Smith will have to try and test from among a number of options like Aryaman Birla, Ankit Sharma (the most successful among RR spinners with 12 scalps) and Mahipal Lomror (slow orthodox), Jatin Saxena and Sudhesan Midhun (leg break). One won’t be surprised if Smith himself decides to bear a major responsibility of adding to his team’s strength in the spin department although he has picked no wicket in the tournament so far.
Pros: The existing names have a great opportunity to prove themselves since there is no big player to eclipse them.
Cons: The experience is very little to rock strong opponents.
