Yusuf Pathan took a stunning one-handed catch to dismiss Virat Kohli and sent his fans into a frenzy on Monday. More than anything else, the wicket tilted the balance of the game as the Kohil was looking in great touch hand was middling the ball really well. It was a brilliant effort from the big man as the ball was going over him and Pathan leapt right in time with his right hand stretched. However, his brother Irfan Pathan, Yusuf himself and Rashid Khan were involved in a hilarious banter on Twitter post the splendid attempt.

The catch potentially affected the chances of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the match as their batsmen couldn’t handle the pressure and the bowlers of SRH pounced on. They have been so clinical in defending totals this season and have made it a habit of pulling things back sensationally in the last 10 overs. The likes of Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Siddarth Kaul did the same on Monday as they won the game by 4 runs and thumped the opposition for the fourth time while defending the low total.

Rashid’s brilliant response

Irfan is working for Star Sports covering the IPL matches by commentating in Hindi and was present at the venue on Monday to witness the special effort from Yusuf Pathan. Soon after the catch, he took to Twitter candidly asking if he had leapt to pluck a mango. “Ye Pathan k hath hai bohat mushkil se catch chot jata hai,” he tweeted. The brotherly love continued as Yusuf also hilariously responded him saying that the childhood habits are still with him.

Meanwhile, Rashid has also jumped into the conversation and praised his teammate. He went on to claim that it is a hand of a Pathan which rarely drops the catch. “Ye Pathan k hath hai bohat mushkil se catch chot jata hai,” he responded some time ago. The fans were left gushing over the conversation and loved the way the three Pathans came together on social media.

Here’s the thread of the convo:
