With the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction set to take place in Jaipur on Tuesday, December 18, the excitement surrounding the mega event is on an escalation. A total of 70 slots are available for 1003 players, who’ll go under the hammer. Cricketers from Bangladesh are likely to be auctioned as well. Only five of the Tigers’ players have gone on to grace their presence in the IPL.

Among them, while all-round cricketer Shakib Al Hasan has effortlessly been the most prominent name in the extravaganza, Mutafizur Rahman has also done well in the T20 event. Nevertheless, a lot of them, both from the international and domestic circuit, has the ability to deliver the goods for the franchises. The 29-year-old batter from Chittagong has previously been a part of the 2012 IPL after he was drafted in by Pune Warriors India as an injury replacement. He was later released only to be picked up by the same franchise in the next season. Unfortunately, he didn’t get to play a single match in both the seasons amidst the presence of some more prominent names in the lineup.

However, being one of Bangladesh’s most dependable players, he has the prowess to shine in the T20 event. He is fearless and doesn’t mind throwing caution to the wind. The experienced campaigner recently recovered from a wrist injury and can be an asset to any team. In 174 T20 matches, the southpaw has notched 4730 runs at an average of 29.93 with a couple of tons.
