IPL 2019: 5 Retained players who will get lesser bids if released
All these players were retained by their franchises despite not performing well in the last season.

5. Piyush Chawla (Kolkata Knight Riders)

Piyush Chawla’s retention was one of the most shocking decisions any franchise must’ve taken in the last season. After an intense bidding war between three to four teams, the leg-spinner was RTMed by the KKR for Rs 4.2 Crores. However, Chawla could only pick 14 wickets after playing 15 matches for his team this year. His economy of 8.40 was also disappointing and the franchise has continued to show faith in him.
With only a handful of players in the squad and a limited purse available, KKR could’ve afforded releasing him. It would’ve given them the option of adding a few more players to their trimmed squad and be ready for the crisis in case if any player gets injured. Instead, they will now have to make sure now that they secure the services of the players carefully ahead of the next season.
