Since the viewership is so high, the youngsters, if adequately skilled get fast-tracked to the higher levels. This purpose has definitely been served over the last few years as the IPL has witnessed several players go on to represent India in no time.

There would be similar aspirations going into this season for some of the uncapped players. They have worked extremely hard in the domestic circuit to make a mark for themselves. With their performances, they have grabbed the attention of the team owners and there are a few guys all the franchises would have their eyes on.

The 31-year-old Jalaj Saxena is one of the most happening all-rounders in the ongoing Ranji Trophy. This Madhya Pradesh-born cricketer is representing Kerala in the first-class tournament and is quite an experienced campaigner. He has consistently accumulated runs and is more than handy with the ball in hand.

He has scored two centuries and picked an 8-wicket haul in the ongoing season of the Ranji Trophy thus far. Hence, all the franchises will have their eyes set firmly on him as he would help in adding great balance to the side. This cricketer, who is in the form of his life, was picked by Mumbai Indians in 2013 as a replacement for Lendl Simmons. However, he didn’t feature in any game. IPL 2019 could be the breakthrough year for Saxena.
