Yuvraj Singh is one of the most destructive limited-overs batsman in world cricket. He is also one of the best all-rounders to have played the game. He had a huge role to play in India emerging victorious in the 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup.

He was awarded the player of the tournament in the showpiece event. However, post that, the left-hander has been considerably inconsistent. He was diagnosed with cancer while playing the 2011 World Cup. In spite of that, the flamboyant left-hander managed to play and made a successful comeback after recovering. But his form has taken a huge hit.

In the 2014 season, he was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for a massive price of INR 14 crores and again eked out a huge price from Delhi Daredevils in the next season. He was a disappointment in both the seasons. Yuvraj had a strong showing in the 2016, playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad, contributing 38 off 23 balls to win the final for his team.

Nevertheless, in the last season, playing for Kings XI Punjab, he again hit a low. He could manage to score only 65 runs in eight fixtures at a paltry average of 10. Releasing Yuvraj had become inevitable, given his inconsistencies and low scores piling up.
