Delhi Capitals finished off the league phase with a comfortable 5-wicket win against the Rajasthan Royals in their home ground. On a tough track to bat on, the Royals were seven down for 65 but managed to reach 115/9 in 20 overs with Riyan Parag scoring a 49-ball 50. The Royals tried to make a difference with the ball by picking wickets regularly but had too less a total to defend. The keeper-batsman Rishabh Pant finished the chase with an unbeaten fifty to knock the Royals out of playoff contention.

Riyan gets the record:

17y 175d – At the age of 17 years and 175 days, Riyan Parag became the youngest player to score a fifty in the IPL. The record was held by Sanju Samson (in 2013 also for RR) and Prithvi Shaw (in 2018 for DD/DC) as both scored their maiden IPL fifty at the age of 18 years 169 days.


Mishra mauls RR again:

30 – Number of wickets for Amit Mishra in the IPL against the Rajasthan Royals; the joint-most wickets for any player against an opponent in the IPL. Lasith Malinga also has 30 wickets in the IPL against the Chennai Super Kings. Piyush Chawla’s 20 wickets are the 2nd most for any bowler against RR in the IPL.


11 – Number of player of the match awards in the IPL for Amit Mishra; the most for any specialist bowler in this league. No other specialist bowler has received more than eight POTM awards in the IPL.


Pant’s ‘Royal’ smashing:

110Rishabh Pant has a batting average of 110 in the IPL against the Rajasthan Royals. In the four innings against the Royals, Pant aggregated 220 runs with three fifties. He has batting strike-rate of 188.03 against them in the league.


Milestone game for Rahane:

100 – This game was the 100th IPL game of Ajinkya Rahane for the Rajasthan Royals. He is now the first player to feature in 100 IPL games for RR.


Pant @ 1000:

1047 – Rishabh Pant became the 2nd player to aggregate 1000 runs in the Twenty20 cricket at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi. Virender Sehwag was the first having scored 1199 runs in all T20s he played at this venue. Pant has two centuries and seven fifties to his name in the T20 format here; the joint-most by any player alongside Shikhar Dhawan (9) and Sehwag (9).


Milestones for the Kiwis:

100 – Trent Boult completed 100 wickets in the Twenty20 format when he dismissed his country-mate Ish Sodhi.

150 – The wicket of Colin Ingram was Ish Sodhi’s 3rd wicket in the game with which he completed 150 wickets in Twenty20s. Sodhi is only the fifth player from New Zealand and the first Kiwi leggie to bag 150 T20 wickets.
