With Andre Russell being injury prone, they will need a player like Maxwell who can take over the responsibility of upping the ante when needed. Maxwell’s part-time off-spin is more than handy and KKR were found wanting at times when their regular bowlers went for runs.

They can also use Maxwell as the pinch hitter having played some explosive knocks while opening the innings. Sunil Narine has faded away as the batsman and the prospect of Chris Lynn and Maxwell opening the innings will be a huge. It will be interesting to see if the KKR franchise will look to opt for his services in the auction next month.
