Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) suffered an embarrassing defeat in their first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday. The side, which is yet to taste its first IPL title, will play next Mumbai Indians (MI) who were defeated by Delhi Capitals (DC) in their first game on Sunday. The RCB fans are now eager to see how quickly their favourite team turns around and get on with the mission.
The RCB players were seen practising at M Chinnaswamy Stadium for their upcoming game on Thursday and there, a young fast bowler caught all eyes with his bowling action. Seen in a video from a distance, the bowler, donning RCB colours, was seen having an exact style of Jasprit Bumrah, the ace Indian pacer. That skiddy bowling style left the social media users stunned as many asked whether Bumrah was bowling with RCB colours on. Bumrah plays for the MI and he hurt his shoulder while fielding off his own bowling against the DC at the Wankhede Stadium.
New Bumrah in the making?
It was revealed by a senior journalist on Twitter later that the bowler who was aping Bumrah’s bowling action perfectly at the RCB nets was a young lad called Mahesh Kumar. Recently, a number of youngsters around the world, including in Pakistan, have been found imitating Bumrah’s unique bowling style with perfection.
The journalist also reported that the youngster was gifted with a pair of new shoes by RCB bowling coach Ashish Nehra. The RCB, who have had two disappointing seasons in 2017 and 2018 after making the finals in 2016, will look to get back to the winning ways as early as possible.
They were shot out for a paltry 70 on a difficult wicket in the first game in Chennai and will be keen to leave that forgettable game behind them fast. Captain Kohli, who became the first wicket to fall in IPL 2019, did not score much and is also due for runs.
