The 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is five months away but the planning has been already started among the franchise owners. The auction is also around the corner which is going to take place in Kolkata on the 19th December 2019. This will be the thirteenth edition of the extravagant T20 league. Many consider IPL as the highest stage to showcase the talents around the world.

One team that has performed the worst over the years if you consider their high potential is none other than Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). They have been the most inconsistent side throughout the twelve years of this competition and have not even won a single edition of IPL despite having a star-studded line-up. For the upcoming edition, they have retained their core and has shown faith in them for one more time.

But at the same time, there are some players who should have been released for good based on their below-average performances last year. Let us find out who they are.

1. Gurkeerat Singh Mann

Gurkeerat Singh Mann has had a lot of domestic experience under his belt. He has even represented the Indian national cricket team on a few occasions. But as far as his IPL career goes, he has been nothing less than a burden for whichever franchise he has represented.

In the 2018 edition, he left his long-time IPL side Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) to join the Delhi Capitals (DC). Following another lackluster season, he joined Bangalore for the last edition of IPL. After joining Bangalore, many thought that his fortunes may turn in the tournament but it wasn’t to be. Another forgettable season was waiting for him in the wings of the Karnataka capital.

In the last edition, Gurkeerat featured in only 3 games for Bangalore scoring 98 runs with an average of 33. He only had one good inning last year when he smashed 65 in the last league match against Hyderabad. With such disastrous statistics under his belt, it is still unknown on what basis did Bangalore agreed to retain him.
