Kolkata Knight Riders will be taking on Kings XI Punjab, in a match where we will get to see quite a few big-hitting powerhouses. Kolkata Knight Riders got out of jail against Chennai Super Kings in their last game, as they came from behind to win a close contest by 10 runs.
They will be pleased with Rahul Tripathi’s batting effort. Also, the fact that their bowling line up was able to defend a target of 167, will give them a lot of confidence. With 3 wins in 5 games, KKR have done well so far, but they are still quite far away from finding a settled Playing XI. They will want to get closer to achieving that in this game.
Kings XI Punjab on the other hand, have had a miserable season. They have lost 4 consecutive games and are languishing at the bottom of the points table with just 1 win in 6 games. There seems to be a lack of coherence in their line-up. Chopping and changing their team hasn’t helped their cause and currently, they seem to be a thoroughly confused unit.
They will be delighted with Nicholas Pooran’s return to form and the continuous development of young leggie Ravi Bishnoi. But apart from that, they don’t much to smile about. In this high voltage clash, here are 3 players you can opt for as multipliers, who can bring you points in this game being played at Abu Dhabi.
In this game, here are three players you can opt as multipliers in your Dream11 team:
1. Shubman Gill (9 credits)
With 163 runs in 5 games, Shubman Gill has had a good start to this year’s IPL. A lot was being expected of him coming into the season. While he hasn’t disappointed, he is yet to churn out performances which can do justice to his immense talent.
Apart from getting a 70, he hasn’t done much and has wasted away his starts. After missing out in the last few games, Gill will be determined to make a mark in this game. Interestingly, Gill has batted in 3 innings against KXIP, has scored 95 runs, including a 65*, and hasn’t been dismissed a single time!
We have also seen the openers of CSK and SRH dominate the KXIP bowlers in the last couple of games. Taking all of this into consideration, we can expect Gill to come good in this match.
2. Mayank Agarwal (9.5 credits)
Mayank Agarwal has looked the most fluent KXIP batsman in the tournament. He has scored 281 runs in 6 games, including a spectacular ton. He has scored some fluent 20s in the last 3 games but hasn’t been able to capitalize on those starts.
He was unlucky to get run out in the last game against SRH when he looked set to have a good day. After having missed out, 3 games in a row, Mayank will definitely look to make his form count in this game and get back to scoring big runs.
3. Chris Gayle (9 credits)
The big man from Jamaica, Chris Gayle, is finally expected to get a game this IPL. Despite scoring 490 runs last year, he wasn’t in the Playing XI of KXIP this year. Gayle is a man of pride and not getting to play those initial games would have surely hurt him.
And we can expect Gayle to come out all cylinders firing to prove that he is still amongst the best T20 players in the world. He has traditionally loved playing against KKR, with 649 runs in 17 innings at SR of 150 and average of 46. He might be rusty, but if he gets through the initial few balls, we could expect some fireworks.
