The cricketing fraternity is fresh from a humdinger of white-ball series between England and Australia. And there is no stopping for the cricket fans as the Indian Premier League is knocking on their doors. The 13th season is finally going on the floor after a delay of almost six months. As expected, there are some changes in the tournament, and the major one is that this year UAE will be hosting the event.

The action-packed tournament will also see several of the cricketers return to their comfort zone. It will be a kind of new start for some of them, as they have not been playing the game for a long time. There are certain cricketers who will be playing this season without much cricket behind them in the last 12 months. They might need time to get into their zone in IPL 2020.

Here is the list of 5 IPL 2020 stars who have played the least number of cricket games since the last season:

5. Ambati Rayudu – 14 games

The love for the game can even change your stance on retirement. After announcing his departure from the game owing to his exclusion from the 2019 World Cup squad, Ambati Rayudu returned to the game in 45 days. At 34, the Hyderabad cricketer has still not given up his hope for making an international comeback. Till then, one can enjoy him in the Chennai outfit in the IPL.

Rayudu has been a consistent performer of this league. It can be validated from his last two IPL seasons, where he led the middle-order of CSK. Especially in 2018, his 600 run-tally guided the team to their 3rd title. Then in the 2019 edition, his form dipped, but he managed to gather 300 runs. Now this year, in the absence of Suresh Raina, more things will be expected from him.

Unfortunately, his lack of time in the middle might work against him. In the last 12 months, Rayudu has occasionally played the game. To be precise, he has represented Hyderabad 14 times and is the only cricket he has played since the 2019 IPL. In that also he hasn’t scored many runs. Then he skipped the Ranji Trophy due to his fall out with Hyderabad cricket. So now, it might be an uphill task for him to play consistently at the top level in IPL 2020.
