For the second consecutive, the fans got to witness a humdinger in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). The 13th edition of the season is living up to its billing after all the anticipation amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. After the Rajasthan Royals pulled off a heist, the Mumbai Indians (MI) almost chased down 202 runs thanks to Ishan Kishan and Kieron Pollard.

The duo didn’t do much when they came together and took the game. The equation came down to 80 runs off the last four overs and this is when they decided to launch a brutal assault on the RCB bowlers. If Pollard took care of the spinners, Kishan slammed the pacers for sixes with ease to reach 99. However, he fell in the pursuit of another six and eventually the match ended in a tie.

MI were to bat first according to the rules in the Super Over and literally everyone were stunned to see Hardik Pandya walk out with Pollard. Kishan was sitting in the dug out after scoring 99 off just 58 deliveries. Even the commentators on air felt that the left-hander should’ve been in the middle as he was in the groove on the day.

Rohit Sharma reveals the reason of Ishan Kishan not batting in super over

Navdeep Saini delivered possibly the best over of his life and eventually, the RCB managed to win the game in the super over. Rohit Sharma was understandably asked about Ishan Kishan not coming out to bat at such a crucial stage and he cleared that the southpaw was completely drained and didn’t have fresh legs. “Kishan was drained and not fresh to go out again for the Super over,” Rohit said during the post-match presentation.

It was one heck of a match though for the fans who were still in the dreams of the Royals chasing down 223 runs the other day and they were treated with yet another classic game in the IPL. The world’s best league is alive and kicking in its best possible way. However, the MI fans will feel hard done to lose after getting so close.
