Jonny Bairstow top-scored for SRH in the first leg, but he decided to pull out before the UAE leg.

Delhi Capitals are all set to face the Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match No.33 of the 2021 Indian Premier League on Wednesday, September 22 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Sunrisers, led by Kane Williamson, have been struck with a blow after Jonny Bairstow pulled out of the second leg.

Bairstow was their leading run-scorer in the first leg. Bairstow’s absence means that David Warner, who isn’t SRH’s captain anymore, may return to the opening slot. The Sunrisers have taken Sherfane Rutherford, who was in good form in the 2021 edition of the CPL, as Bairstow’s replacement.

The Capitals, on the other hand, have been bolstered as Shreyas Iyer returned to their scheme of things after sustaining a shoulder dislocation earlier this year. The Capitals would want to reclaim their top spot in the table. The Sunrisers, meanwhile, are languishing right down the bottom of the table.

Pitch Report

The pitch in Dubai has been a fairly good one for batting. But the track tends to become a tad tough to bat on as games progress. Hence, batting first and putting runs on the board should be the way forward. The spinners and pacers are expected to get help in equal proportion.

Probable best batsman of the match

Shikhar Dhawan—Delhi Capitals

Shikhar Dhawan was in incredible form in the first leg of the IPL 2021 back in April. The left-hander is currently the leading run-scorer of the tournament, having notched 380 runs at an average of 54.28 and a strike rate of 134.27. Having scored three fifties, the veteran has looked in ominous touch. He will be looking to carry on from where he left off four months ago.

Probable best bowler of the match

Rashid Khan– Sunrisers Hyderabad

Rashid Khan has been the sole performer for the Sunrisers in the 2021 edition of the IPL. In seven matches, the Afghanistan tweaker has churned out 10 wickets at an economy rate of 6.14. However, he hasn’t gotten much support from the others. If the Sunrisers have to beat the Capitals, Rashid can’t afford to drop his guard by any stretch of the imagination.

Today’s match prediction: Delhi Capitals to win the match.
