Royal Challengers Bangalore have had quite some bad days in the Indian Premier League. They have qualified for three finals in 2009, 2011, and 2016. They have made it to the playoffs on a few other occasions as well, but have not managed to win a single trophy since their inception in 2008.

However, in the 2021 season, Bangalore fans can actually hope for some success. RCB in the 2021 season had made some changes to their squad. During the first leg, it seemed that all these changes could actually work for them. And now with the same spirit, RCB will be marching into the second leg and hopefully, win their first title.

Speaking of their journey in 2021, RCB started their campaign with four consecutive wins. This was the first time that they had won as many as four matches on the trot at the start of a season. They lost their fifth match against Chennai. A close win against Delhi and a loss against Punjab Kings meant RCB had to settle with the third position by the time tournament was postponed.

Can RCB continue their momentum into the second leg?

With five wins in seven matches along with two losses, the equation is quite simple this time for RCB. Virat Kohli’s side needs to win at least two or three of their next seven matches in the UAE to secure a playoff position. Given their squad strength, this seems quite achievable and Kohli’s men might just go all the way in this tournament.

There have been a few changes though. The replacements which the franchise has added make their squad look even stronger than before, especially in these UAE conditions. Adam Zampa, Kane Richardson, Finn Allen, Daniel Sams, Washington Sundar, and Scott Kuggeleijn all had to pull out for various reasons.

In place of these players, Bangalore has signed Tim David, Dushmantha Chameera, Wanindu Hasaranga, Akash Deep, George Garton. The replacements even impressed skipper Kohli, who commented recently on their bench strength. What is good for them is the fact their main overseas stars are back from the first leg.

Here is the updated Royal Challengers Bangalore squad from IPL 2021 second leg:

Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Yuzvendra Chahal, Devdutt Padikkal, Harshal Patel, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj, Navdeep Saini, Shahbaz Ahmed, Pavan Deshpande, Glenn Maxwell, Sachin Baby, Rajat Patidar, Mohammed Azharuddeen, Kyle Jamieson, Dan Christian, Suyesh Prabhudessai, KS Bharat, Tim David, Dushmantha Chameera, Wanindu Hasaranga
