Ishan Kishan, just aged 23 rose to fame right after he was picked by Mumbai Indians in the 2018’s auction. He debuted for the dissolved Gujarat Lions team in 2016 at an age of 18. The left-handed wicketkeeping-batter was caught by the eyes of franchisees for his explosive fearless batting and his keeping.

He stepped into 2018’s auction pool with a base price of just INR 40 Lakhs and ironically he was sold to MI at a whopping amount of INR 6.20 crores. In 61 IPL matches, he has hit 1452 runs with an average of 28.47 and a strike rate of 136.33.

Ishan is definitely a future asset as he is a proper wicketkeeper too. It is believed to be that Mumbai Indians were also in a huge dilemma to sign either Suryakumar Yadav or Ishan for the remaining spot. But MI has gone with the experience and current form of SKY. Ishan being the younger, dynamic, and futuristic player, deserved to be on the retention list.
