The English wicket-keeping batter Jonny Bairstow debuted in the most difficult T20 League in 2019 for Sunrisers Hyderabad. After being unsold in 2018’s edition, he performed well in other stages and got the opportunity to represent an IPL team in 2019 for a salary of 2.2 crores.

Bairstow played 10 matches in the first season and hit 445 runs with an average of 55.62 which includes a century. He was given a chance to play 11 matches in 2020 and he averaged 31.36 which is a very appreciable one for this format. In 2021, this 32-year-old player participated only in the first phase of the tournament as he pulled himself out to train for the T20 World Cup.

In his seven matches in the 14th season, he scored 248 runs with a strike rate of 141.71. He has been an underrated player in this tournament as his aggregate average and strike rate of 41.52 and 142.18 is phenomenal. Though he has proved himself whenever he got an opportunity, he has not been retained by SRH.
