The purple cap holder in the 2017 edition of the IPL for Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS), Jaydev Unadkat has not looked too impressive in the past two seasons for RR. The left-arm pacer came with huge expectations on his shoulders when he was snapped by RR for INR 12.5 crores in 2018. Unadkat’s 2017 form for the now-defunct RPS and his stupendous record in Ranji cricket for Saurashtra was one of the clinchers for RR going all the way to acquire his services.

The decision though has not paid off as they would have liked. Unadkat has only taken 29 wickets in 39 games across four seasons for RR. During this edition, he got to play only six matches, and in those chances to he could not make an impact as he picked up only four wickets. Worst, young pacers like Chetan Sakariya and Kartik Tyagi have grabbed their chances. By Unadkat’s recent form, he may probably go unsold during the mega auction in 2022.
