Well, the IPL 2022 has almost reached its backend stage. So far only the Gujarat franchise has booked its playoff berth. Barring Mumbai and Chennai, the other seven franchises are still dramatically hunting to finish in the top four.

However, the performances of many retained players have been dreadful in this competition. Precisely from a pool of 25 retained players, a total of 14 cricketers have atrociously failed. Even the downfall of esteemed franchises like MI, CSK and KKR is well associated with this above phenomenon.

Therefore in this list, let’s rank all 10 teams based on the performance of their retained players.

10. Mumbai Indians

Woefully for MI, the IPL 2022 has been utterly hellish. Barring Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma there’s not been any silver lining. Their two legendary players- Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard have severely nosedived. Even Jasprit Bumrah hasn’t been at its best to bail.

Statistically, the skipper from his 12 games has just scored 218 runs. The 35-year-old has averaged 18.17 without hitting a single fifty. However agonizingly, his deputy has experienced his worst ever IPL season. From his 11 games, Pollard has crawled to 144 runs at a strike rate of 107.46.

Even for Jasprit Bumrah, the IPL 2022 has made him blow hot and cold. In his 12 appearances, the ace pacer has scalped 11 wickets at an economy of 7.40. Eventually, a fifer against KKR has given a big boost in his overall wickets tally. Nonetheless, MI’s least expensive retained player- Suryakumar Yadav has been the only break in the cloud. The local boy has scored 303 runs from his 8 games at an average of 43.29. Hopefully, in IPL 2023, we expect this behemoth franchise to return back at its normal winning services.
